Junaid Baghdadi and Love for Allah

Once at the season of Hajj, there was a get-together in Mecca of a few companions of Allah; the most youthful among whom was Junaid Baghdadi (RA). In that social occasion, there was a talk regarding the matter of 'Affection for Allah' and with respect to who is the admirer of Allah. A considerable lot of them communicated their perspectives regarding the matter, yet Junaid (ra) stayed silent. He was squeezed to state something.

With his head bowed down and tears in his eyes, he stated, "The admirer of Allah is he who overlooks his very own self, stays occupied with Allah's recognition with due respect to every one of its necessities; sees Allah with the eyes of his heart, which is signed by the warmth of Allah's dread; Allah's recognition influences him like some wine, he talks the expression of Allah as though All-Mighty Allah talks through his mouth; on the off chance that he moves, he does as such under the order of Allah; he gets genuine feelings of serenity just through the compliance of Allah; and when such a phase is achieved, his eating, drinking, dozing, arousing and, so, every one of his activities are for the joy of Allah; he neither pays regard to the common traditions, nor does he append any significance to hostile analysis by individuals."
