Enemy Becomes a Friend

In the 6th year after the hijrah, the Prophet, harmony arrive, chose to extend the extent of his main goal. He sent eight letters to rulers in the Arabian promontory and encompassing regions welcoming them to Islam. One of these rulers was Thumamah ibn Uthal.

Thumamah was a standout amongst the most dominant Arab rulers in pre-Qur'anic times. This isn't astonishing since he was a chieftain of the Banu Hanifah and one of the leaders of al-Yamamah whose word nobody set out to test or rebel.

At the point when Thumamah got the Prophet's letter, he was devoured by annoyance and rejected it. He declined to tune in to the welcome of Truth and goodness. More than that, he felt a powerful urge to go and slaughter the Prophet and cover his central goal with him.

Thumamah trusted that a helpful time will do his structure against the Prophet until in the long run carelessness made him lose intrigue. One of his uncles, be that as it may, helped him to remember his arrangement, commending what he expected to do.

In the quest for his shrewd plan against the Prophet, Thumamah met and slaughtered a gathering of the Prophet's sidekicks. The Prophet immediately proclaimed him a needed man who could legally be slaughtered without hesitation.

Not long a while later, Thumamah chose to perform umrah. He needed to perform tawaf around the Ka'bah and forfeit to the symbols there (The general population of Makkah, before getting to be Muslims, set many icons in the Holy Ka'bah. These icons were later pulverized by the Prophet). So he left al-Yamamah for Makkah. As he was going close Madinah, an episode occurred which he had not foreseen.

Gatherings of Muslims were watching the regions of Madinah and peripheral regions vigilant for any outsiders or anybody goal on causing inconvenience. One of these gatherings happened upon Thumamah and caught him yet they didn't know his identity. They took him to Madinah and fixing him to one of the segments in the mosque. They trusted that the Prophet himself will scrutinize the man and choose what ought to be finished with him.

At the point when the Prophet was going to enter the mosque, he saw Thumamah and asked his friends, "Do you know whom you have taken?"

"No, detachment of God," they answered.

"This is Thumamah ibn Uthal al-Hanafi," he said. "You have done well in catching him."

The Prophet at that point returned home to his family and stated, "Get what nourishment you can and send it to Thumamah ibn Uthal." He at that point requested his camel to be drained for him. This was done before he met Thumamah or had addressed him.

The Prophet at that point drew nearer Thumamah wanting to urge him to wind up a Muslim. "What do you need to state for yourself" he inquired.

"On the off chance that you need to slaughter in response," Thumamah answered, "you can have somebody of honorable blood to execute. On the off chance that, out of your abundance, you need to pardon, I will be thankful. On the off chance that you need cash in pay, I will give you whatever sum you inquire."

The Prophet at that point left him for two days, yet at the same time actually sent him sustenance and drink and drain from his camel. The Prophet returned to him and asked, "What do you need to state for yourself" Thumamah rehashed what he had said the day preceding. The Prophet at that point left and returned to him the next day. "What do you need to state for yourself?" he asked again and Thumamah rehashed what he had said afresh. At that point the Prophet swung to his partners and stated, "Set him free."

Thumamah left the mosque of the Prophet and rode until the point that he went to a palm woods on the edges of Madinah close al-Baqi' (a position of rich vegetation which later turned into a burial ground for a large number of the Prophet's allies). He watered his camel and washed himself well. At that point he turned back and advanced toward the Prophet's mosque. There, he remained before an assembly of Muslims and stated:

"I give testimony there is no god yet Allah and I take the stand Muhammad is His worker and His ambassador." He at that point went to the Prophet, upon whom be harmony, and stated:

"O Muhammad, by God, there was never on this planet a face more disgusting than yours. Presently, yours is the dearest face of all to me."

"I have slaughtered a portion of your men," he proceeded with, "I am at your benevolence. What will you have done to me?"

"There is currently no fault on you, Thumamah," answered the Prophet. "Turning into a Muslim crushes past activities and imprints a fresh start."
