In the seasons of Umar (Radiallahu Anhu) there was a serious starvation. Every one of the general population of Madinah were enduring because of the deficiency of nourishment. A troop made up of a thousand camels stacked with a substantial load of sustenance grains having a place with Uthman (Radiallahu Anhu) touched base from Shaam (Syria). A few dealers offered to purchase every last bit of it. He asked them what benefit they would pay. "Five percent," they said. He addressed that he could get higher benefit than that. They started to contend with him, saying that they didn't know about any dealer who might offer him more than their statement. He said to them, "I am aware of one who reimburses a benefit of in excess of seven hundred to a dirham (Arabian money)." He at that point presented the stanza of the Noble Quran in which Allah Ta'ala referenced this benefit. "The similarity of the individuals who spend their riches in the Way of Allah, is as the resemblance of a grain (of corn); it grows seven ears, and every ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives complex increment to whom He satisfies. Also, Allah is All-Sufficient for His animals' needs, All-Knower." (2:261).

"O merchants! Take the stand me that I give this to the needy individuals of Madinah!" said Uthman (Radiallahu Anhu).
