A Sheet for the Prophet

Described Abu Hazim: I heard Sahl bin Saad saying, "A lady brought a Burda (for example a square bit of material having edging). I asked, 'Do you comprehend what a Burda is?' They answered in the certifiable and stated, "It is a material sheet with woven edges." Sahl went on, "She tended to the Prophet and stated, 'I have woven it with my hands for you to wear.' The Prophet accepting it as he needed it, and came to us wearing it as a midriff sheet. One of us stated, 'O Allah's Apostle! Offer it to me to wear.' The Prophet consented to offer it to him. The Prophet sat with the general population for some time and after that returned (home), wrapped that midsection sheet and sent it to him. The general population said to that man, 'You haven't done well by approaching him for it when you realize that he never turns down anyone's demand.' The man answered, 'By Allah, I have not approached him for it but to utilize it as my cover when I kick the bucket." Sahl included; "Later it (for example that sheet) was his cover."

The individual needed to have the sheet for his cover since he trusted that Allah will demonstrate kindness towards him after death as he is shrouded in a sheet that was worn by the Prophet.
